Planning the Memorial Service

ARRANGEMENTS

In consultation with the family, the Pastor will arrange the details of the service and will discuss the date, time, and place of the service (Chapel or Sanctuary). Ordinarily, the service would be held in the usual place of worship to join this service to the community's continuing life and witness to the resurrection. The service shall be under the direction of the pastor; however, others may be invited to participate.

Members are encouraged to discuss and plan in advance for appropriate arrangements. These plans should be simple and bear witness to the resurrection hope, which is central to the Christian community. In the memorial service Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life. The promise of God's written Word, hymns of praise which offer hope, along with appropriate prayer comprise the central components of the service.

A Memorial Is A Service of Worship
