Church School Classes - Sunday 10:00AM

"HIGH HOPES FOR AN HEAVENWARD PEOPLE"

This fall the Seekers Class will be studying in-depth the New Testament books of Thessalonians.  The course is entitled:  "High Hopes For An Heavenward People".   Letters to the churches in the New Testament, were written with specific needs and challenges in mind.  And the needs of the Thessalonian church were unique and like a master physician, the apostle Paul knew how to diagnose their need and prescribe a faith-cure for it.  The same needs exist today.....and the cure given.   What were they and how do they apply to us today?   Well, you'll have to come and see to be able to find the answers.  So we invite you to participate in this study, engaging in a thorough research of Scripture from its original languages and translation.

COLOSSIANS STUDY

This class will focus on 1) addressing why so many, who assume they understand the gospel, fail to actually apply its riches to their lives on a daily basis... and 2) answering the important question: "How does the finished work of Christ become real to me at my point of need?"
Rediscover the gospel of grace, and the radical freedom it was meant to bring every believer, every day of their life. Jesus + Nothing = Everything!
An internet study from Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church led by Will Schnell.

NOOMA

Nooma is a series of short films promoting spiritual perspectives on individual life experiences. The name NOOMA comes from a phonetic spelling of the Greek word "pneuma" meaning "wind," "spirit," or "breath." Each film is about 10 to 14 minutes of teaching related to real-life situations. Each short story covers a specific topic, usually by relating various experiences from a Christian perspective. Each NOOMA video features the teaching Pastor Rob Bel of the Mars Hill Bible Church.

Starting in January 2012, Stephen Leaders, Barb Middelthon and Paul Mrha, will be leading the discussion following the Rob Bell Nooma DVDs. The films will be presented in this order:

1) Breathe, 2) You, 3) Sunday, 4) Bullhorn, 5) Rain, and 6) Rhythm.

EARLY CHURCH FATHERS

This class will discuss the early Fathers of Christianity.

  • What were their qualifications.
  • Their Christian Writings that kept a common orthodox doctrine.
  • Defenders against heretical writers questioning Our Lords duality.

Mid-Week Bible Study -
     Thursday-10:00AM

"Exodus: Operation Liberation"

Thursday Morning Bible Class will resume January 12, 2012, from 10--11 a.m.  We will be studying the O.T. Book of Exodus.   "EXODUS: OPERATION LIBERATION."

Exodus explores the exciting journey of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt to their promised land, showing how powerful our God is as He leads, provides, protects and begins to build His nation.  It is a wonderful stimulus to our own faith as we see how He works for the Israelites and realize that He is the same God for us today.

All are welcome and invited to come join us for this exciting adventure.
