Each Sunday I greet newcomers at the beginning of worship with these words: “Welcome to Trinity Presbyterian Church of South Venice, Florida. We’re glad you’re here!”

If you are new to our community and are looking for a church home, I must tell you that there are many fine congregations in the greater Venice area. Each has their strengths and ministry expertise. But let me share with you about one—the Trinity Church family—with whom I am most closely acquainted.

Trinity is what many would call a “medium sized.” At seven hundred members and affiliates we are neither a mega-church nor a small congregation. We’re big enough to offer an array of worship experiences, program ministries, and opportunities for service. Yet, we’re small enough—to use the old TV jingle—where “everybody knows your name.” Even with the aid of name tags!

Most important is an informal motto that has kind of stuck over the years: It really describes who we are: We seek to be “Christ-centered, Biblically based, and Spirit-led” in all that we do. Whether you are a committed believer and or someone who is just exploring your faith journey, you may take comfort in that.
